Of My Bangkok Adventure

And after so long, a SCRAPBOOK POST!! Spent my whole night photoshopping the photos, and the total layer count is more than 400!! In the end it's not as nice as I thought it'd be, because this time round I chose a transparent background! :( But anyway, here's presenting...

Our flight was in the morning and we reached the airport rather early. All of a sudden Teri exclaimed "Eh why Joey message me?" and suddenly J told me that he's coming to send me off! Hehe what a last minute surprise! We boarded the plane at around 10.30am! EXCITING!!!

It's my first airplane ride in almost 13 years! The first time was when I went Australia when I was 8 and all I remember was requesting for apple juice every single time the airstewardess walks pass me haha annoying kid!

The ride was only about 2 hours, and we arrived at Bangkok at 12.30pm BKK time!!

We went to some True Something place at the airport to purchase a SIM Card in order to use Google Maps! It costs us around 400baht if I didn't remember wrongly! Neh put the SIM Card in her iPhone and all of us were able to use the personal hotspot! Hehehe!

We took the City Train to Ratchaprarop, and walked a short distance to our hotel, Budacco! The hotel was located at some alley which was annoying because we took a long time and detour to find it, all the while carrying our (almost empty) luggages! But the service and comfort we got in the hotel really really made up for it! I roomed with my future hall roomie, PEAR!! ♥

After that we proceeded to Platinum Mall!!

We just kept shopping around Platinum Mall, from 3.30pm till 7pm, stopping only for a short toilet break! At around 7pm, most of the shops in the mall were closing and so we headed upstairs for a super duper yummy Japanese meal! From the photo you see only 1 piece of sashimi and 2 california roll because we ate it the moment the food arrived and nearly forgot to take photos! Hehe. We went back to our hotel after shopping because we were just sooooo tired!!

Funny story - when I was walking down this overhead bridge on the way back, I tripped over something and my havaianas broke!! We were all panicking because the streets are really dirty and I can't walk at all. In the end we spotted a roadside stall selling slippers at 50 baht each! How lucky am I!! See the floral slippers which I bought at 50baht ($2)!!

Day One loots, where I bought the most! It's so little lah, which means the rest bought even lesser!!

The hotel breakfast was not bad!! The egg was really yummy! And as usual we went to Platinum Mall, passing by Pratunam Market on the way, and we bought tons of havaianas (more than 10 pairs in total!) at 140baht and shades (around 6 pairs!). We kinda got cheated by the uncle because we got the shades at 110baht, and other places were selling them at 100baht! The uncle still told us usual price is 150baht, wahlau!

We took the tuktuk from Platinum back to our hotel to put our stuff, and the uncle was really nice!! After we rested awhile, we set off again to Central World! When we were hailing a tuktuk, we saw the nice uncle again!! Hahaha he's really v cute because when we reached the destination he still said "See you. Budacco!" Hahahaha! Teri kept hoping that we will see him again! Too bad we didn't!

We walked quite a bit from Central World to MBK, rushing all the way because MBK closes at around 10pm. The whole place was such a disappointment because the phone covers were so expensive and ugly. In the end the best find was Naraya!!

And we had Krispy Kreme for teabreak. Can you believe it, we had our dinner at around 10pm because we were too busy shopping!! And what did we have? MCDONALDS!! Boring!!

Hehehehe went back and had a fun time moisturising and chatting with the girlfriends! Check out Day 2 loots! I'm loving the leopard printed loafers and light blue scallop hem shorts! The wacoal bra we got at Central World is also comfy as hell! Feels like you're floating!!

Once again I bought the most! And all my loots is excluding gifts that I got for my family and J!

1st row: Roadside orh lua thingy, Crepe
2nd row: Fried chicken, fried sotong, tom yum spaghetti at our hotel
3rd row: Tomyam soup, kangkong, curry crab at T&K Seafood, Chinatown

On Day 3 we went crazy at this market which we don't know the name of. The clothes were all really cheap, priced around 100baht and above!! When we reached Platinum Mall we were really quite sian diao because the stuff there is comparatively much more expensive!

We also ate quite a lot of good stuff, from the roadside to our hotel, and then to Chinatown!!

Chinatown... what a journey!! We wanted to take a cab to Chinatown at 5.30pm, but no taxi wanted to fetch us there.. A kind Singaporean girl told us that nobody will want to fetch us there because it's the peak hour, and advised that we head there at around 7.30pm. In the end no cab wanted to fetch us at 7.30pm too! :( We even got cheated by this idiot driver, who agreed to send us to Chinatown, and once we got onto his car, he told us that he can bring us to a nearer seafood place for 300baht!!! He even said that cabbing to Chinatown will cost us 400baht! In the end we alighted and got stranded at some random place.

But the random place was really near to the train station, and Amelia decided that we should take the train! Super good idea, because that's what we did, after asking the train staff, we took a train and then subway, and after walking a huge distance, we finally arrived at Chinatown, only to find that the seafood was overhyped!! Haha!

Bought so many pairs of sandals, and my total shoes count this BKK Trip is 9 pairs, including 3 sandals, 4 flats, 1 havaianas, 1 floral slippers! And I bought blue, mustard, nude, 3 floral shorts! Siao!

On our last day we decided that NO MORE SHOPPING, because we were really tired and we didn't have much cash left! We then went around searching for this wanton mee stall, again relying on google maps, only to be greeted with a closed stall! Are we suay? So we decided to head for massage and the shop was closed as well! HAHA what a joke!

In the end we went to this random massage place which was quite good. But it was very embarrassing because they also massage your boobs! OMG.

We had A&W for teabreak. Amelia and I shared the pancakes w icecream! Super yummy!! ♥

And after massage, we headed back to our hotel for lunch! We all ate the tomyum spaghetti, which was not as good! After that we went super early to the airport, for fear of traffic jam and long queues! We ended up waiting an hour for our flight! Hehe.

And check out the photos above! Teri's pretending to fall down because there's this hump outside our hotel that we kept tripping over, and she tripped the most number of times!
The bottom left photo shows me and Neh, looking like some lesbian couple wearing couple shirts, because we happened to pack the same t-shirt for Day 4! We stay in different rooms so we didn't coordinate! HAHAHA. And finally...

Home sweet home! I had a great time at BKK!! Any thoughts that 4D3N was not enough is dispelled by how nua and repulsed we felt by shopping on Day 4! Hahaha! I'm also missing the king-sized bed and my roomie Pear!!

Let's make this our yearly trip! I really think I don't have to buy clothes for 1 year!!

And do check out the post below for BKK Shopping places if you haven't been there before (LIKE ME!)! Hehehaha so suaku.
