DIY: Shorts w Lace Pockets

Friday, June 22, 2012 at 10:57 PM

Feeling: HAPPY
Listening: -

Today is a day of accomplishments! :) I sewed 3 pad bag, 1 velcro pouch (see post below), added lace trimmings and pocket to my shorts and altered a top! LALALA.

Really extremely happy with the shorts w lace pockets, cause I saw it in H&M, F21 and Agneselle selling quite expensively. Hehehe DIY is best! :)

Anyone remember this? I used cream crochet instead of white crochet and the color difference was rather obvious, so I removed it and sewed it again!

If anyone's interested, the instructions are the same, and you can see here!

Much happier w this color!!!!

And as for the pockets...

Materials
- Lace
- Sewing kit/ sewing machine

Step 1: Cut

Measure sufficient lace to cover the pocket. We're gonna do it strip by strip. For my shorts, I covered the pocket part with 3 strip of laces. Overestimate instead of under! Cause I underestimated and it's not as neat :(

Step 2: Sew!

Sew a box around the lace. For the part near the inside of the pocket, lift the pocket up and sew it inside instead of on the border. Repeat to cover the whole pocket.

TADAH!!!! So easy and simple! I got the laces from Daiso at $2! I chose the thickest lace available! The white laces are all not v pretty but heck it, I still think the shorts look so much lovelier! Can't wait to wear it out!! :)
